This original oil painting is from a series of work made while the artist studied in Sorrento, Italy. It is from a series of "alla prima" paintings that depict colorful clotheslines found among the streets of the city. The soft, colorful clothes contrast beautifully with the neutral-toned, decaying walls. Painted directly from life, the artist had a limited window of time to capture what she refers to as, "temporary still-lives."
